How to get the Cliffhanger achievement in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

Make 'em hang.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide is a great mess of bloody warfare, where you can charge around and slaughter at whim. However, as the God-Emperor says, war is a form of art, and you the tools. So, let’s try to make something beautiful. The Psykinetic has a rather interesting and difficult achievement called Cliffhanger, and those trying to claim it might be finding some difficulty. Here is how to complete Cliffhanger in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

How to complete the Cliffhangar achievement

Warhammer 40K: Darktide has many, many achievements (known as Penances in game) for you to complete for little more reason than to flex. As the Psykinetic, there is one achievement that requires a lot of things to line up perfectly. The Cliffhanger achievement is one that is tricky, but looks awesome. It’s exact completion parametres are ‘as the Psykinetic, kill 20 enemies within 2 seconds by knocking them off a ledge using your Ability’.

There are some misconceptions to the achievement, however.

Misconceptions

Firstly, the ‘2 second window’ means that from the first kill by falling off the ledge using your ability, you have a two second window in which the other 19 enemies must die. You do not get a 2 second window in between each enemy, and it does not reset with each kill.

Additionally, the progress bar under Cliffhanger in the Steam achievements page indicates your most successful attempt, so how many you’ve killed in this way within two seconds. You will still have to get all 20 kills in two seconds.

Pulling it off

Cliffhanger certainly requires a bit of luck. It is only really possible to do this achievement when a horde spawns next to a ledge that’ll fall into the abyss, and for you to be there when it does. But that’s unrealistic.

To sanely perform this achievement, you should not go around trying to pull it off, but simply attempt it whenever the opportunity pops up. Otherwise, you’ll be in for a lot of stress.

Instead, make it a habit, if a horde is chasing you, to lead them to a ledge. Use your ability, and watch them fly. If you get it, congratulations! Otherwise, better luck next time.
