In game, when you acquire the snorkel equipment, you’ll automatically be able to start diving. You won’t have to do anything extra once you’ve got the gear. Getting that gear on the other hand, might take a while. First, players will need to get the crafting plan for the snorkel. The snorkel crafting plan is given to you by Kuromi once you reach friendship level 6 and complete the “Deep Dive” quest. The quest tasks you with jumping into a pong and rescuing Kuromi’s locket. “Deep Dive” is a simple quest, and helps familiarize players with the diving mechanics.

Once that’s all complete, you’ll have to give back the snorkel gear that Kuromi let you borrow and craft your own. To craft a snorkel you’ll need: 10 Rubber, 2 Sparks, and 2 Iron Ingots. Rubber is easy enough to find, but you’ll need to craft Sparks and Iron Ingots before crafting the snorkel. You’ll find the crafting plans for Sparks by completing “A Zipline Adventure” from Pochacco, and Iron Ingots in Gemstone Town, behind a barrel next to the façade of a house. Sparks are crafted from 3 Light Stones, while the ingots are crafted from 3 Iron Ore.
