How to Get S and P Ranks in Pizza Tower

Let all pizzas bow before you.

I don’t know who the first person to decide that an “S” should rank higher than an “A” was, but they were pretty sharp. Getting an A is pretty nice, but to get an S in a game is a sign of true perfection, of mastery of one’s craft. Of course, limits only exist for those that desire them. There is always one step further to go. Here’s how to get S and P ranks in Pizza Tower.

How to Get S and P Ranks in Pizza Tower

Every time you finish a level in Pizza Tower, your performance is ranked on a six-letter scale.

  • D for Awful
  • C for Bad
  • B for OK
  • A for Awesome
  • S for Perfect
  • P for… Pizza, maybe?

You can get an A rank by simply playing the game well; scoring high, finding a couple of secrets, completing the level quickly, and so on. However, if you want to get a score above that, you’re going to need to put on a top-shelf performance.

In order to get an S rank on a level, you need to complete the following objectives:

  • Clear the level’s point threshold
  • Collect all of the Toppins
  • Find all the secret rooms
  • Have Gerome open the door to the Secret Treasure and take it
  • Go through the Pizza Portal and complete Lap 2

Basically, you need to hunt down every single collectible in the level, as well as complete Pizza Time fast enough that you have time to run through the whole thing twice. Do all that, and you’ll get an S rank.

Getting P Ranks

If an S rank is perfection, though, a P rank is to go even further beyond. What’s the P stand for? I have no idea, but Peppino does a cool pose when you get one, so maybe that’s what it stands for. In order to get a P rank, you need to complete the following objectives:

  • Meet all the requirements for an S rank (point threshold, Toppins, secret rooms, Gerome, Lap 2)
  • Defeat at least one enemy before leaving the level’s first room
  • Never drop your combo

So not only do you need to find all of the secrets and make a speedy escape, you effectively have to do the entire level in a single flowing combo. No stalls, no damage, no screw-ups; this is the realm of unadulterated perfection beyond perfection.

Incidentally, you can also get S and P ranks on boss fights, though it’s comparatively much simpler. Your rank in boss fights is only determined by the number of hits you take. If you only take a couple of hits, you’ll get an S, and if you beat the boss with no hits at all, that’s a P.

P-rank hunting is not for the faint of heart. Unless you have the gumption to learn a level inside and out and absolutely master the game’s mechanics, you may be better off simply pursuing an S or A rank. No one will think any less of you.
