There's dirt and then there's DIRT.

You know why you can’t just stick a seed in any patch of dirt and expect something to grow? It’s because some soil is more packed with nutrients and life than others. How to Get Rich Soil in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Rich Soil is a collectible item in Disney Dreamlight Valley. On its own, it doesn’t provide any kind of inherent benefit, but it is necessary for the completion of certain character quests, such as Scar’s “Nature and Nurture.” That particular quest requires ten chunks of Rich Soil to create Miracle Growth Elixirs, but it’s not super clear where you’re supposed to get it.

As it turns out, you can get Rich Soil from just about anywhere. The catch is that you need to be the one to enrich it. How do you do that? Farming, of course! Whenever you grow and harvest any kind of crop, you have a chance to pull a chunk of Rich Soil out of the ground alongside whatever you’re harvesting. You can do this in any location with dirt, with the lone exception being WALL-E’s garden. Ain’t exactly a lot of nutrition in his soil.

If you want to optimize your Rich Soil-gathering process, there’s a very easy, not to mention affordable method of doing so. All you need to do is swing by Goofy’s stand in Peaceful Meadow and buy a whole bunch of Wheat Seeds. Wheat is one of the cheapest crops, and it only takes about a minute for them to mature.

Go find a nice, open patch for yourself, dig a bunch of holes, and start planting wheat. Don’t forget to water them! After that, just wait until they’ve all finished growing and pluck them out of the ground. You have a chance to get a piece of Rich Soil every time you harvest something, though it’s not exactly a high chance, so you may need to plant and harvest a lot of wheat before you get what you’re looking for. On the bright side, you can make a lot of bread afterward.

With any luck, you’ll get all the Rich Soil you need without needing to wait around too long. Once you’ve got the Rich Soil, you can make the Miracle Growth Elixirs for Scar.
