Pokémon GO has been improved upon tremendously from when it first became a global phenomenon years ago. The game is all about catching Pokémon in the real world, which will occasionally show up on your map as you move around. Using your location, you can walk around in real life and move your character on your device, which will let you travel to locations such as Gyms, PokéStops and other places in order to get items and rewards. Catch Pokémon from many different generations of the iconic game and grow your collection to include every one of them! In this guide we will cover how to get postcards in Pokémon GO and what you need to do in order to obtain them in the game.

How Do You Get Postcards in Pokémon GO?
There are a couple of ways that you can get postcards in Pokémon GO, which you can then collect in your Postcard Book and look back on when you would like to remember where you have travelled (in real life) and all of the places that you’ve visited. Here are both of the methods you can use to get postcards and fill out your Postcard Book!
Firstly, you can go to Gyms and PokéStops and then spin their icons to get a Gift. This Gift will contain a postcard of the location that you visited, and then all you need to do is save it in order to increase your Postcard Book’s collection! The other way that you can get postcards is by pressing the pin button on Gifts that your friends send you, which will give you a postcard to add to your collection. Make sure that you save these as well so that they will be added directly into your handy Postcard Book. Enjoy collecting postcards and have fun gathering as many as you can in the vast world of Pokémon GO – I mean Earth!
How Many Postcards Can You Have?
Unfortunately for those of us who love travelling, there is a hard limit to the amount of postcards that you can have in Pokémon GO. This number caps out at 300 postcards, which is the number you can fit in your Postcard Book. As of right now there is no way to increase this number, however if the community pushes hard enough for it perhaps you’ll be able to increase your storage amount in the future!
How Do You Pin Postcards in Pokémon GO?
In order to pin postcards, simply press the pin button on Gifts your friends send you. The other way to do it if you already own the postcard (and it’s not from a gift) is to view your gifts in the Item Bag and selecting them, which will open up a message that will ask if you’d like to pin the postcard. This will let you save them, which means if your friend is visiting someplace exotic or pretty you can keep the view as well!
For those wondering, you do not need to open a gift in order to pin a postcard. Therefore, if you do not have a lot of storage left for regular items you can keep the gift unopened until you have the space, but still pin the attached postcard whenever you want to. Pinning postcards can even help you to evolve Scatterbug into Spewpa and Vivillion, which means that you’ll be able to unlock new Pokémon by collecting your friends’ postcards!
