How to Get More Dragon Hearts in Remnant 2

A heart full of fire and HP

Having a Dragon Heart on you at all times sounds OP but it’s use is far more minimal than you would have initially hoped. Acting as the primary healing system in Remnant 2, its use can make or break your game. You will want to time popping your Dragon Heart at key moments and refrain on your trigger-happy gameplay that you will likely be using in this Souls-like with guns, from pulling the trigger on the healing Relic. It cannot be with you for every fight and every moment you take too much damage and whilst you may have some friends to support you or a dog by your side, rationing out your Dragon Heart usage may just keep you alive to see the boss fall. This is Vincent’s guide on where to get more Dragon Hearts in Remnant 2.

What are Dragon Hearts? (Without Being too Literal)

Dragon Hearts are the default Relic available in Remnant 2. Regardless of which Archetype you pick or which one you end up with (hint, hint), players will begin their game with the Dragon Heart in hand. This specific Relic acts as a Med Kit, or at this is a Souls-like, an Estus Flask. The Dragon Heart upon use, regenerates a total of 70 health. In the middle of a fight, a well-timed Dragon Heart use will keep you in the game. But with a limited use system of 3 Relic Charges available, you will find that the only real way to replenish this number is through resting (much like the Dark Souls Bonfires). As the enemies get harder and the universe throws at you randomized bosses, you may find yourself flying through Dragon Heart usages. Because of this, it is best to upgrade your Dragon Heart Relic as soon as possible.

The Dragon Heart Relic cannot specifically be found, rather it can be upgraded. If you are looking to replenish your Relic Charge as fast as possible, visiting any resting place will do so. Of course, if you are with allies, this may prove harder than playing solo. However, it is best to upgrade this health and revive Relic via Ward 13. You will need to visit Wallace at the top of the Docks area (inside floating Container at top of a staircase) where he can sell you different Relic Upgrades. To upgrade however, you need to get x1 Simulacrum, x10 Lumenite and x1000 Scrap. The key item here is Simulacrum which can be used for all Relic upgrades with Wallace. Finding Simulacrum however can be tough if you go down the boss hunting route as only a few specific bosses can drop this item.

Instead, players should stay inside Ward 13 and visit the Scrap Merchant, Cass who sells Simulacrum for x1500 Scrap. Every Relic Upgrade purchase will give you 1 extra Relic Charge. There is an option where instead of upgrading the Relic Charge amount you have available within a given life and boss battle, you can instead invest in Relic Fragments than offer bonuses on the Dragon Heart. Bonuses include higher health replenishment that will mean you do not need to keep upgrading your Dragon Heart Relic with Simulacrum.
