These days, you really can’t find many games that don’t have some kind of microtransaction in-game currency. Whether single-player or multiplayer, it’s all the same really. COD Points, V-Bucks, Show Bucks, you name a game and it’s almost certain to have a currency that you need to spend real-world money on to have.
Disney Dreamlight Valley, though a single-player life-sim title, certainly has its own in-game currency that you’ll need to buy if you wanna take advantage of its perks. In this game though, at least currently, it’s only limited to the game’s season pass. But to get premium access to that season pass, you’ll have to spend Moonstones. So, today we’ll be explaining how to get Moonstones in Disney Dreamlight Valley so that you can get ahead in the game a bit quicker.
How to Get Moonstones in Disney Dreamlight Valley
As far as it goes for Disney Dreamlight Valley, players have three ways of receiving Moonstones to use, at least for now. Though, a fourth method is seemingly in the works for the future of the game, as it’s technically in an early access state currently. The first two ways to get Moonstones actually work in tandem and will cost you a pretty penny if you want to get access to as many Moonstones as you can at this point in time.
What you’ll need to do in order to get Moonstones right now is purchase one of the game’s various Founder’s Editions. This is really the only way a player could get in the game right now anyway so chances are that you’ve already gotten some if you’re an early adopter.
Below are the various editions of the game and how many Moonstones you get. Keep in mind that the better the edition you get, it’ll include all of the perks of the cheaper versions as well.
- Standard Edition – 8,000 Moonstones
- Deluxe Edition – 14,500 Moonstones
- Ultimate Edition – 20,000 Moonstones
It’s safe to say that if you go with the Ultimate Edition that you’ll make out like a bandit, netting a grand total of 42,500 Moonstones to spend. Moonstones really only serve one purpose as of right now, acting as a way for players to purchase the game’s season pass, Star Paths.
The current going rate for a Premium Star Path is 2,500 Moonstones with a higher-tiered one coming in at 4,100 Moonstones but includes 100 Pixar Balls which are used similarly to tickets that can be redeemed to unlock cosmetic items for both your character and house.
Another big way to unlock Moonstones at this time is by unlocking them using those Pixar Balls from within the various tiers of the Star Path. You can either purchase more Pixar Balls with Moonstones (which defeats the purpose of earning more) or earn more by completing the various tasks tied to the Star Path. Alternatively, you can find Moonstones in the randomly generating blue chests around the land but you only get 10 Moonstones from each.
It’s clear that Moonstones are eventually going to be purchasable with real-world money and will serve a bigger purpose in-game but as it currently stands, you can only get Moonstones by purchasing any version of the game, unlocking more through the Star Path, or by finding them in randomly spawning chests.
