For Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the most optimal way to gain battle-winning buffs is going to be through the crafting of a mean sandwich. We all know the holy grail of what makes or breaks a sandwich is going to be its condiments. The passive buffs that come from sandwiches are numerous: encounter rates, catching power, size chance, experience gains, or even shiny encounter rates can be increased through the power of sandwiches. The only problem… where do you get the ingredients?
How to get Mayonnaise in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
The Artisan Bakery
A fantastic basic condiment to start with is mayonnaise. Your journey will take you to the largest city of the Paldea region, Mesagoza. Fortunately, this is a location you’re brought to right at the very start of the game. Right after you fight your second battle with rival Nemona, you can enter the captivatingly charming city. Taking the right hand road towards Mesagoza’s west exit you will find a humble Artisan Bakery. The grocery store we’re looking is seen on the map! It can be unassuming, however, as it shares the same icon as the city’s many cafes. Its menu of goodies is pictured for you below:
For 120 Poke Dollars (or 120 League Points) you can get one serving mayonnaise, but it’s always a great idea to buy extra if you can! Other all-too-important toppings are here too. Ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper and more are all on the menu. Use these as a basis to get creative with sandwich fun while you’re out adventuring in Paldea.
While you’re on your way to the Artisan Bakery, don’t forget to stop by the Mesagoza Branch of Deli Cioso. It’s also located on that very same road with the Artisan Bakery. It’s not even out of the way! There you can pick up Egg, Potato Salad and Chorizo to put on your sandwiches.
Of course, all of this hinges on getting past your rival. Stuck? Check out our guide on How to Beat Nemona!
