What is Malicious Armor Used For?

Malicious Armor is an item used to evolve Charcadet. In order to evolve Charcadet into Armarouge (Scarlet) or Ceruledge (Violet), players must obtain items dropped by the Pokémon Bronzor and Sinistea. This criterion depends on which version you have bought of Scarlet and Violet. For players who bought the Scarlet version, Bronzor Fragments are needed to evolve Charcadet. For those playing the Violet version, players must find Sinistea Chips. These dropped items are then used to trade for Malicious Armor.

How to Get the Armor in Pokémon Scarlet

Step One: Find Bronzor

Bronzor can be found in the areas of Paldea:

  • East Province (Area Two)
  • South Province (Area Three)
  • South Province (Area Four)
  • West Province (Area Two)
  • Cortondo

Step Two: Defeat Bronzor to get Bronzor Fragments

Players need to find and defeat Bronzor as many times needed to collect 10 Fragments. The drop rate of Bronzor Fragments varies per Pokémon. The only criterion to getting Bronzor Fragments is for players to knock out Bronzor. It is a simple step to evolving Charcadet. After collecting 10 Fragments, players need to trade these for the Armor.

Step Three: Take Fragments to Zapapico

Zapapico is the city, closest to the Eastern border of Paldea. If players have already visited Zapapico then they can use the fast travel method of transport to get to the Pokémon Centre at Zapapico West. After arriving at Zapapico (West) Pokémon Centre, head down the slope. Keep going left until you see a water fountain. There is a person wearing a blue jacket and jeans, waiting by the fountain. Approach and talk to make a trade. Trade the 10 Bronzor Fragments for Malicious Armor.

Now that you have obtained the Armor, all you need to do now is select the Malicious Armor via the Other Items Tab (Candy icon) in your Bag. Make sure Charcadet is in your party as you are doing this final step. Select Malicious Armor and then select Charcadet to evolve into Armarouge.
