While this article is going to focus on the horrible weapons, we will also be talking about horrible gear in general. The tagline “Horrible” has nothing to do with its stats mind you. In fact, Horrible gear and weapons boast some pretty neat stats if you’re able to craft them. To do so, you’ll need to find some Shadow Rifts. These will spawn once you defeat the Ancient Fuelweaver or by force-spawning them via server settings.

You’ll get a message that the world has changed forever once this happens, and from there, you’ll find Dark Miasma spewing from these rifts in caves. Shadow Thralls will spawn from the Miasma, and these will be exactly what you need to get your horrible weapons. Each Shadow Thrall you defeat will drop a number of Pure Horror and and Dark Tatter materials. And once you have a good number of these items, you will be able to start crafting weapons such as the Shadow Reaper and the Umbralla.

As of writing this article, there aren’t a ton of these weapons available to craft. So if you have any extra materials, you might want to look into crafting the horrible gear such as the Void or Dreadstone armor. But you’ll first need to make it out of the Dark Miasma with your materials and your life if you’re to reap the rewards.
