How to Get Honey in Valheim

To get honey in Valheim, you’ll need to construct a beehive using a Queen Bee. Beehives can be found in abandoned houses throughout the Meadows and Swamp biomes. Shoot down the wild beehives with your bow, and you’ll have a chance to obtain a Queen Bee, along with some honey. While near a workbench, equip your hammer and open the crafting menu to make a beehive.

How to craft a Beehive in Valheim

A beehive requires 10 Wood, 1 Queen Bee, and 1 Workbench to craft. You can place a beehive anywhere on the ground, but make sure it is not too close to a wall, or it won’t produce honey. Each beehive can produce one honey per day but can only store a maximum of four honey, so revisit your beehives every four days to clear them out.

Honey is the best regeneration food in Valheim, providing the user with 5 hp per tick and 20 Health and Stamina for 300 seconds. If you need to heal up quickly, eating some honey and sitting near a campfire is the quickest way. So, what other things can you do with the ingredient?

Honey’s primary use outside of being an essential food item is creating Mead Bases in the Cauldron. By combining Mead Bases and a few other things in a Fermenter, you can make Valheim‘s version of potions. It’s the closest you’ll get to an instant heal, not to mention the elemental resistance potions can seriously mitigate some damage.
