While the main goal of Warhammer 40K: Darktide is to fight hordes of enemies, that’s not all the game has to offer. Aside from playing with friends and random events to shake up a mission, there is another important factor. That being players being able to customize their characters. Making a character your own helps players feel invested in the game. As well as giving them more reasons to grind out mission after mission.

One of these customization options are helmets. While not offering any protection against enemies players may face, they do look cool. Additionally, they help make characters instantly recognizable in the heat of battle. With several options to choose from, we found some common methods to acquire a helmet should you be in the lookout for one.

Where to get Helmets in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

As it turns out there are several ways to get helmets in Warhammer 40K: Darktide. Some methods take more effort than others, but most of all of them are not time-gated. All it takes is some strategy, effort and coordination, and a large assortment of helmets can be earned to be equipped by players. Here are all the ways that players can earn helmets in game.

Levelling Up – The simplest and easiest way to get cosmetic helmets is by playing the game. When playing your class, they level up after the end of every successful mission. The more levels earned, the more cosmetics are unlocked. This goes for more than just helmets, as a complete ensemble can be equipped by levelling up.

Penances – Penances on the other hand, are one of the more arduous methods of getting helmets. Each class has a specific penance; an in game challenge that can be done to earn cosmetics. Often time this is related to class specific skills, and are difficult to pull off. But should it be done, more of the cooler looking helmets will be available for players to wear into battle.

Twitch Drops – Oftentimes Developers Fatshark will stream the game on Twitch. As the gameplay goes live, they will offer cosmetics that can only be acquired by watching on Twitch, such as helmets. Be sure to check in on Fatshark’s socials to know when their next Twitch drop campaign will happen.

Play the Pre-Launch Beta – While this has already happened, those who have played Warhammer 40K: Darktide during the Pre-Launch Beta will have exclusive cosmetics already unlocked in their account. These cosmetics include a helmet that can be worn.

Own the Imperial Edition – For a bit more price, players can purchase the Imperial Edition of the game. This offers cosmetics that can only be acquired by purchasing this version of the game, including helmets.
