How to Get Health in Starfield – Med Pack and Trauma Pack Location Guide

Extend your life for longer with the classic health kit

There are a ton of reasons why you may need to heal in Starfield. From fall damage, bullet intake, environmental and harsh condition such as radiation to name a few, as factors that result in your health depletion. Med Packs and Trauma Packs are the most efficient and primary course of healing in Starfield. Whilst these do not cure status effects on their own, they are essential and as important as any other Med Kit used in a video game. Therefore, this is Vincent’s guide on how to get Med and Trauma Packs in Starfield.

Where to Find Med Packs

Med Packs can really only be found through loot in your exploration or during Mission progress. You will need to search through Research Laboratories or anywhere where medicine equipment is in high demand and supplied. In these areas, you will often find Packs in first aid boxes (green in color) and rightfully so. In rarer instances, Med Packs can also be found in safes but these are again in locations such as Hospitals/Labs.

The primary way of getting Med Packs using other methods is through purchasing these at Vendors. Vendors can be found in main cities across the galaxies such as in Jemison or Neon. Whilst they can appear on bodies that you have defeated during combat, the chances are lower than you may have initially imagined. Finally, pickpocketing is a valid option but having high stealth is important here so you do not get caught. Be sure to crouch and check the pockets of the NPC you are attempting to steal from before doing the crime. You will note if they have a Med Pack before you actually steal it from them. In this screen, the NPC allows you to look with no repercussions however if you steal when you are ‘Detected’ a fight will ensue.

How to Get Trauma Packs

Trauma Packs are another method to healing in Starfield, however its supply comes in high demand due to the high likelihood that you will need an abundance of these Packs to last you a lifetime as you live out your astronaut years. For those looking for these Packs, you need to head to the core cities in Starfield such as Jemison and Neon (mentioned above) and go into Medical Centers/Hospitals. These cities not only house Vendors but they also include Doctors who you should visit as they have their own supply (although limited) for the stock you need including that of Med Packs.

Although rarer, Trauma Packs can appear in the same first aid kits as Med Packs. These should be the go-to places to check when exploring or between completing Missions. Stock up with the Doctors whose supply will restock every in-game 1 day- 3 days duration.
