How to Get Goats and Sheep in Sims 4

Forget that mini pig craze that happened on YouTube a couple years back...get yourself some mini goats and sheep

The Horse Ranch Expansion has arrived and with the wait for Sims 5 on the perhaps very far horizon, players are changing their lifestyles towards a more fulfilling, animal centred world. With Horse Ranch, players are able to build upon their Farm with Ranches and animal residents to care for, raise, breed and sell on as a means of agricultural living. Although the primary reason to purchase this Expansion is for the Horses, players do have the option of purchasing a few small but cute additions to truly bring their new home to life. Moving into the Chestnut Ridge can be a lonely place, especially if your Sim is residing in a home solo. So add life and happiness with animals. Because Dogs aren’t the only animal that make us happy. This is Vincent’s guide on how to get Goats and Sheep in Sims 4.

Where to Buy Goats and Sheep in Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion

Although it is an obvious point to make, it should be stressed that these new mini animal additions to Sims 4 can only be explored with the new Expansion Pack: Horse Ranch. We also recommend having the Cottage Living Expansion Pack to fully immerse in the farming lifestyle with shearing and milking to sell on for cash. But in getting these cute little animals to join you on your adventure, players will need to locate the various Bulletin Boards around Chestnut Ridge (the new Sims 4 location for the Horse Ranch Expansion). By visiting and interacting these Boards, you will see an option to call the Ranch Animal Exchange. By doing so and selecting that you wish to purchase Sheep and Goats, you will find the Mini Sheep and Goats options, separated by color.

Any Sheep or Goat you purchase can be placed directly into your Inventory which can then be placed onto your Ranch to bring them back to life and add an extra layer of cuteness to this entire Expansion. What’s better is that the Mini Goats and Sheep can be interacted with much like your new Horses. You will be able to groom, shear and milk. Alternatively, players can visit the Equestrian Center to go through the same process. The pricing of Sheep are very much the same across the board with pricing between 150-400 unless you are buying a seemingly rarer breed with the black coat which asks for 2,000 Simoleon. For Goats on the other hand, their pricing is much lower, with every breed sitting at only 150 Simoleons.

We recommend only having up to 10 Goats and Sheep on your farm at one time as anything exceeding this amount can result in a lot of bugs and glitches that can ruin the experience, such as your Goat or Sheep vanishing when you are brushing their coat. These bugs may be fixed in the near future so that players can build upon their Ranch and the animals that reside inside. The important thing to note is that Sheep can be sheared once a day whilst Goats can be milked once a day.
