Take to the Skies! How to Fly a Helicopter in Battlebit Remastered

Helicopters incoming!

If you’re a modern war FPS fan like me you’ve probably spent numerous hours in games such as Battlefield trying to be a universal soldier that can both ride tanks, airplanes, and ultimately helicopters. I put helicopters last because those annoying things made me spend hours in many games trying to master them. Each time I was flying one and started becoming sure that I understood how it works I ended up crashing without reason (or most likely with a reason I didn’t understand) until I ultimately got the hang of it.

Battlebit Remastered is another great shooting game that will put you in a helicopter sooner or later and it’s always better to be ready and be versatile as much as possible. Even though helicopters can seem scary they are pretty simple to learn if you’re patient enough. However, if you’re one of those that flew these flying birds without a problem in games like Battlefield you should be fine in Battlebit Remastered as well.

In our guide, we’ll walk you through how you can quickly master the heli controls and be the king of the sky.

Flying Helicopter for Beginners in Battlebit Remastered

When you try to fly the helicopter in Battlebit Remastered a couple of times you soon realize that it’s similar to the game mechanics of other FPS games that have helis as well. See our tips below to fully grasp helicopter riding in this game and not lag behind the experienced players.

Basic Tips for Flying a Helicopter

The first thing you need to know when it comes to flying helicopters in Battlebit Remastered is the movement basics. Same as when walking around, you will use WASD and your mouse movement to fly. See the details below for a better understanding:

  • W Key: Hold to ascend.
  • S Key: Press to descend (if you hold, your helicopter will have a hard landing).
  • A Key: Hold to turn left.
  • D Key: Hold to turn right.
  • Move Mouse Up: Helicopter pitches down.
  • Move Mouse Down: Helicopter pitches up.
  • Move Mouse Left: Roll Helicopter to the left.
  • Move Mouse Right: Roll Helicopter to the right.

Advanced Tips for Flying a Helicopter

Now that you know the basics we’ll go into some more advanced tips. Once you’re in the air and want to move forward you need to press the W key + Mouse movement up (so that your helicopter pitches down). Flying backward will require you to press the W key again but this time add Mouse movement down (pitching the heli up).

Orbiting around a target and shooting at it is one of the main advantages of a battle helicopter so that’s what you need to master next. To successfully turn right you need to press W + D at the same time while simultaneously moving your mouse to the right (this balances the helicopter that is leaning to the left during W+D). Similarly, in a situation when you want to turn left, you simply press W + D and move your mouse to the left at the same time.

Rappeling Down Your Teammates

A good helicopter pilot isn’t one that only knows how to fly and shoot at enemies, but also one that knows how to take care of his own men. In situations when you need to leave your teammates in a certain area you need to know how to properly rappel ropes.

The first thing you need to do is make sure you’re low enough as they can’t descend from a rope if you’re high in the air. Then press the Q key to release the rope and allow them to leave in the designated area. Similarly, you can pick up people from an area and save them if necessary using the same advice described above. When you don’t need the rope anymore you can simply pull it back with the Q key again.
