Occasionally the ‘Could Not Access the Specified Channel or Stream Key’ error appears and that can be bad for you or it could just be a Twitch glitch that will resolve. How to Fix the Error

The ‘Could Not Access the Specified Channel or Stream Key’ error is specifically when the stream key can not connect to your channel. As a streamer on Twitch, the Stream Key is what connects everything together and how you run a live stream for your audience.

Your first attempt to fix this error should be to double-check your Stream Key. Just go to your profile account on Twitch first. Click on the creator dashboard and go to the settings drop menu and click on stream. This will bring you to the stream key and preferences settings page with the ‘Primary Stream Key’ spot at the very top. Click the RESET button on the primary stream key. This will give you a new Stream key you can copy and paste to help restart your channel’s streaming capabilities.

Take that new stream key copy and put it into whichever streaming software you use and it should fix or renew your streaming connection to Twitch. If this does not work there are a few quicker ideas to try as well.

If the above stream key method does not work, try restarting both Twitch and whatever streaming software you are using and check their connection again.

Also double-check your internet connection. Sometimes if the bandwidth is too low you will not be able to connect to Twitch or streaming can not be supported. So run an internet speed test.

If none of these work then it is likely on Twitch’s side and you will just need to wait it out and try again in a few hours.
