Overwatch 2 has not had the smoothest launch. Since its release last week, the game has suffered from many issues such as game crashes, players being kicked from matches, and long queue wait times. Blizzard has worked to address these issues over the past few days but some players are still having trouble. For instance, players are having trouble merging their Battle.net accounts with their console accounts. This guide will show you how to fix the account merge error in Overwatch 2.
What is Account Merge in Overwatch 2?
Account merge allows players across separate platforms to carry over their progress. For instance, if you merge your Xbox Live and Battle.net accounts, you’ll be able to play on Xbox Series X and then switch to playing on PC with all of your progress saved.
Fixing the Account Merge Error in Overwatch 2
Once you’ve linked your console and Battle.net accounts, you’ll need to wait for your Overwatch items to transfer to Overwatch 2. Because of how many people are playing the game, this is taking longer than it should. There is also an bug that stops players from seeing a pop-up message about cross-progression, which prevents them from performing the account merge process. The best way to fix this is to just go through the process and just wait for your items to show up. There’s no estimated time on how long but according to Blizzard, a fix for this issue is on the way sometime this week.
If you think that your items are taking too long to appear, try submitting a support ticket to Blizzard. You can visit this link. Describe your issue before hitting continue. Choose the “I still need help” option then select Account and “Not listed here.” Next, choose Contact Us. Here you type what you’re having trouble with and then submit a ticket to Blizzard.
