How to Fix Nintendo Switch Error Code 2005-0003

Before getting started on the remedies for the Error Code 2005-0003 on your Switch, it’s important to understand why it’s even happening in the first place. The Error Code 2005-0003 message appears when you’re using a microSD that’s encountering problems when it tries to communicate with your Nintendo Switch. The most common issue for this is if a game was downloading when the console was completely shut down, and then the micro SD card was removed.

But how can we fix this? Well, the first thing you’re going to want to do is to make sure that there’s no external damage to your microSD card. You can indicate damage on its teeth which transfers data. If that’s damaged, you may want to just get a new microSD card entirely. Even if that isn’t the case, you could just try another card just to see if the issue stems from the original one.

If that’s not the problem then make sure your console has the most up-to-date update running on it. If it does, then restart it to get a fresh boot. Once you turn it off, take the microSD card out and then reinsert it before turning the Switch back on. Your last ditch effort if that doesn’t work would be to try formatting the card entirely. If that fails, then it’s time to move onto a new card or just download things to the system’s internal memory bank.
