Unfortunately for some, as with many games’ launch nights, there are bound to be players that face issues when trying to connect to the densely populated servers. One such issue that players have been running into so far is the dastardly “Failed to log in to 2k sports” error that pops up in the MyNBA2K23 app. Today, we’re going to explain how you can get around it and get back into the game.

How to Fix MyNBA2k23 App Error “Failed to Log in to 2K Sports”

This “Failed to Log in to 2K Sports” error comes along when players try to scan their faces into the game via the MyNBA2K23 app. This is used for player customization and serves as a nice way for players to put themselves directly into the action. Having this feature is fantastic but also has the potential to put bumps in the road that can definitely negatively affect someone’s experience of the game entirely, and that’s, unfortunately, the case here.

In order for players to use the MyNBA2K23 app and bring themselves into the game, they have to link the platform they’re playing on to the app. So whether it’s Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PlayStation, or Steam, you have to have gotten your accounts linked in order to take advantage of this awesome app and its features. Where players are finding this error though is when they’re coming up to the third step in the linking process.

So, when linking your platform you may come across this issue. Some have reported that there needs to be an active NBA 2K23 save file already on that platform for it to work. Though others have stated that even if a save file is present on your platform, this issue will persist. Players have even tried linking their platform to their 2K account via the website but have had no success finding a way around it through that avenue either.

Unfortunately, there isn’t an official answer from 2K on why this issue is happening, if it’s being patched, or whether there’s a workaround for it. As it currently stands, you just can’t bring your own face into NBA 2K23 just yet. It’s a bummer, but hopefully, the app can get an update that eliminates this ridiculous error.
