Prime Matter and Brass Token’s latest release, the survival horror title, The Chant, is quite an exciting game to be sure, once you get the hang of what it has to offer. From the very opening moments of its story and gameplay, The Chant does not ease players into things, opting to toss them out of the fryer and into the flame.

Though things actually do slow down quite a bit once we meet the game’s protagonist, Jess. And if you’ve started following Jess’ friend Kim towards the retreat, then you may have hit a snag when she asked you to find twine. Luckily for you though, we can explain how to find Twine for Kim in The Chant.

How to Find Twine for Kim in The Chant

Following the opening events of The Chant, you’ll take on the mantle of our hero Jess and slowly learn about the retreat as you walk along its paths with her friend Kim. This part of the game is important because it subtly teaches players about some crucial gameplay mechanics without having danger play a part in things.

But as you walk up to an artistic-looking structure that you need to head under, you’ll find that it’s blocked by a swarm of flies. As Jess is afraid of flies, Kim instructs her to find a bundle of Twine in order for her to show you how to craft a useful weapon that she can use against the swarm, opening the path back up for you to cross through. In order to find the Twine though, you’ll certainly need to have a set of eagle eyes as there’s a pathway obstructed by some foliage.

If you pass to the right of Kim there’s a path that will actually wind back in a u-turn kind of shape. At the end of it, you’ll find the Twine sticking out of the ground. It can be hard to see, but luckily, an action button/key will appear on-screen for you when you’re in its proximity so that you can pick it up. After that, return to Kim and she’ll show you how to craft a Sage Stick to keep those flies away.
