How to Find Three of the Best Hidden Clips in Immortality

Missing clips can be where the difficulty is found in Immortality.

Immortality is a cracking mystery FMV that requires many playback tampering to discover and reveal the true grand scope of everything unfolding before your eyes. As a general tip, ensure that each and every clip has been dug through extensively. To do this is simple with the rewind and fast-forward mechanic. You want to only skim through it up to the second speed setting and wait for a certain but extremely noticeable element to appear. When this happens, hold DOWN the rewind or fast-forward button.

This element is what you want to focus on each and every time. Rewind and fast-forward during every single one of these moments, then when capturing it where the scene plays a new clip with regards to this particular element, rewind and fast-forward again. You may end up doing this up to three times in one single clip which is where most of the biggest secrets are hidden.

How to Find Three of the Best Hidden Clips in Immortality

We will lay out exactly which clips you will find uncovers more than you may have originally thought because of this particular secret frame hidden within another secret frame. These scenes are highly integral to achievement unlocking and piecing together the overall mystery for its layers within a single frame. There are three to locate, and when you are not in the know about how some clips layer it can be difficult to find them exactly, so here’s the one you need to be on the lookout for and dig deep!

This game is best played spoiler free so we will vaguely suggest what you need to find as the “certain something”. Don’t worry, it’s obvious once you first experience it and hopefully you don’t mind the initial jump scare/shock horror.

Minsky 33B

Funnily enough, Minsky footage seems to be the only one that hides the easiest scenes to miss, although this probably explains a lot of why this movie is the only one that was never finished in its production. Minsky 33B is almost certainly going to be one of the first clips you will find that hides additional footage unseen in its initial run.

Watch the clip play out, then rewind to when Merissa is on top of John. Hold down the rewind once she is above him and the “certain something” will appear. This will require only one rewind to find and is easy to miss due to appearing in the middle of the clip unlike the majority of appearing almost immediately or by the last few seconds.

To locate this clip, keep selecting the hotspots of Merissa’s face, John’s face, furniture (focus on any beds in any other shots specifically), and greenery related to plants and other natural objects. This clip is tied to the achievement “What Happened to John Durick?”.

Minsky 17A

This clip is one of the most important sections to dig into and is the only indicator to what happens to a particular character that requires TWO slowed-down rewinds to see. When Merissa and Carl are standing and squaring up to one another, rewind once or twice and you will be transported to another scene involving the “certain something”. Watch the second clip until the end, then slowly rewind once more to finish off this scene in its entirety.

To locate this clip select the faces of either Merissa or Carl. It’s possible to find it by clicking on a gun (an item that only appears three times across the numerous clips) or, on the easier path to it, anything related to the color red. This clip is tied to the achievements of both “What Happened to Carl Goodman” (the first scene played in its entirety) and “What Happened to Amy Archer?” (playing and rewinding the scene correctly for the second time – this results in a total of three scenes coming out of this one scene).

Minsky – 06/26/1970 (Carl and Merissa kissing)

This clip once again requires you to rewind twice. Go all the way to the end of the clip and slowly rewind by pressing the rewind button until a new scene plays. Fast-forward until it nearly ends then backtrack for only a few seconds for a scene that jumps years back for more context on the “certain something” and when and how they cross paths with Merissa for the first time.

To locate this clip, keep selecting the hotspots of Carl’s face, Merissa’s face, or anything that projects light (lamps or other bulb objects work). These clips are not exclusive to any achievements or trophies but instead shed light on the origins of Merissa meeting this elusive figure which is a massive piece of the puzzle.

There are the three easiest-to-miss clips from Immortality that require further digging into unlike the usual fast-forward and rewind fare at the start or end of clips. Remember to ensure to switch from image to video format during the grid view at the home page because the image views are labeled with what got you the clip. This makes it much easier to narrow down what you need to look for once clips repeat.
