How to Evolve Level 100 Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet

The Trolls weren't expecting this

In rare instances of Online Trading in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, it is possible to receive unevolved Level 100 Pokémon. You would assume that this is a fantastic opportunity. How to Evolve Level 100 Pokémon

Players may assume that it is not plausible to evolve these Pokémon as they have reached their max level. Those who have been gifted with the useless Level 100 Magikarp may indeed wish to send that fish packing. However, you can in fact evolve this Pokémon, turning the troll on itself. All you need to do to do this is head into your Bag. Select a Rare Candy and give it to the Pokémon. This will force the evolution of the Pokémon and in the case of receiving a Magikarp, you will get a Gyarados. Even better, upon receiving a Shiny Magikarp, by using the Candies, you will get a red Gyarados. You do not need to go into battle with this Pokémon in order to evolve it to its final form.

As players are likely giving their Pokémon EXP Candy to fast-track that levelling up process, you may have Rare Candy available. If not, do not worry. Rare Candy is obtained through exploration of the Paldea provinces. These appear in Poké Balls that have a pink glowing indicator so be sure to keep an eye out for them. Alternatively, Rare Candy can be obtained in 6-Star Raids. Keep in mind that if you have not finished the base-game these Raids will not be available for you to partake in. However, for those who have access, Rare Candy can be obtained, although its drop is randomized.

You can also pick up Rare Candy with the Pickup Ability equipped, that way upon winning battles, you will pick up a random item. Similarly to Raids however, it may take you a while to get that Rare Candy you desire. You need to be minimum Level 11 to obtain this as a dropped item. The Pokémon which have this ability are: Tandemaus, Dedenne, Phanpy, Meowth, Pachirisu, Teddiursa, Greavard and Galarian Meowth.

So that is how you evolve a Level 100 Pokémon. The process is simply and even better if you are someone who has farmed a lot of Rare Candy before receiving a Level 100 Pokémon. Get yourself an evolved Shiny Level 100 Pokémon from those online trolls. Turn that Magikarp into Gyarados with ease by using this method.
