Early-game bird Pokemon are a well-known stable in Pokemon games. Ever since the Pidgey line in the first games, you can expect a Normal/Flying-Type bird within the very first route or two of your adventure. Whether it’s a new species this generation or a hold-over from the previous, a bird Pokemon is a good early companion for any new Pokemon journey. For Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Gen 6’s Fletchling is the birb of choice. In case you are new to the games or just want to double-check, we will tell you all about Fletchling’s evolutionary line. Here’s how to evolve Fletchling in Scarlet and Violet.
How to Evolve Flectchling
Fletchling is a very cute orange bird Normal/Flying-Type Pokemon. It evolves very simply through normal level-up evolution. No special stones or items are required.
Fletchling evolves into Fletchinder at level 17. You then will continue to train Fletchinder until it evolves into Talonflame at level 35. Talonflame is a Fire/Flying-Type instead of Normal/Flying.

Where to Find Fletchling
In case you are wondering where to locate Fletchling or it’s evolutions in the wild, that’s pretty easy too. You can find and catch Fletchling in the second area of the early routes of the game. The official area names are South Province Area One, South Province Area Two, and South Province Area Five.

You can also find Fletchinder in these areas but its spawning will be much more uncommon and rare. Fletchinder can also be found in the West Province Area Three.
Like most 3rd-level evolutions, Talonflame can not be found in the wild. You will just have to evolve it from Fletchling and Fletchinder. Luckily for you, you now know how to do that!
