For every friend you’ve made so far in Disney’s Dreamlight Valley, you’ve had to do a friendship quest to become their friend and move up the friendship ranks. Once you do, all friendable characters (even Scar!) can provide you with:

  • More quests
  • Better results when they’re your companion for activities like mining
  • And some introduce you to more friends, such as when you meet Anna and she helps you find her sister Elsa.

Like many friends, Toy Story’s Buzz Lightyear isn’t interested in moving to Dreamlight Valley without a house. What’s Buzz’s house look like? It’s the Star Command! Here’s how to complete the quest to build a Star Command in Dreamlight Valley. This falls under the quest entitled “A Space Ranger Recruit.”

The Star Command is no simple abode: it’s the result of several sub-quests required to make it happen. After all, you not only need the materials: you need to be outfitted for the mission.

Part 1: Make the Space Ranger Ship

The ship is a crucial component of the Star Command. To make it, you need to get the following items:

  • 5 iron ingots (one iron ingot = 5 iron and 1 coal)
  • 10 hardwood (most easily found in the Forest of Valor)
  • 3 glass (1 coal and 5 sand)

Hardwood is ready to go as is, but you’ll need to craft the ingots and the glass at a crafting station using the necessary components. Once you’re done crafting your last component, don’t go anywhere — you must make the Space Ranger Ship at a crafting station as well.

After you’ve made the Space Ranger Ship, return to Buzz’s RV and put the ship nearby. Buzz will direct you to Scrooge McDuck to continue the quest.

Tip: You can locate the Space Ranger Ship under the furniture tab when you’re ready to craft it and have all the components.

Part 2: Craft Navy Blue Dye in Dreamlight Valley

Buzz and Scrooge want you to have a cool space suit. To accomplish that, you will need to create special navy blue dye. The ingredients for the dye are as follows:

  • 10 coal (found just about everywhere when you mine or dig)
  • 15 blueberries (they grow on blueberry bushes, most readily found at the beach)
  • 3 blue falling pentsemons (they typically grow in the Plaza)
  • 1 empty vial (make this with 3 sand).

Tip: You’ll find the vial in the practical items tab in your crafting options when you’re at a crafting station.

After getting the vial of dye, you’ll need to make the rest of your outfit.

Part 3: How to Make the Space Ranger Outfit Required for Getting the Star Command Outpost

Get ready to collect some seaweed! You’ll need a load of it to help make your outfit. Fortunately, you can easily get seaweed by fishing in non-highlighted spaces at Dazzle Beach. Bring a fishing companion with you to get more seaweed faster.

Crafting the Space Ranger Outfit means you need:

  • 15 seaweed
  • 1 navy blue dye (completed in step 2)
  • 1 topaz (most readily found by mining in the Plaza area)
  • 15 softwood (very common, often found in the Plaza)

Once you assemble your Space Ranger Outfit, you’ll have to go back to Scrooge McDuck, who will direct you to Buzz once more. Then, Buzz will let you place the Star Command Outpost! It’s time to blast off for more adventures with your new Toy Story friends in Disney’s Dreamlight Valley.
