How to Enhance Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail

In RPGs nothing can ever be that simple and in Honkai: Star Rail, nothing is. This turn-based combat game has you embark on a journey across the stars where you will be equipped with Cards that carry your Weapons, Skills and Base Stats on them like the old school Pokémon Cards. As you progress through your story, be sure to regularly upgrade your equipment so that you can stay ahead of the pack and always be prepared for a fight, regardless of how far you are in the game. What are Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail?

The new Light Cone System can be rather convoluted when you first dive in, but there is a key difference you need to be aware of when upgrading your Skills in Honkai: Star Rail. This is that you can either Level Up through the Enhancing option or Superimpose instead. The difference between the two is as follows:

Levelling Up by Enhancing Light Cones means that you are taking different Light Cone Cards (on the same Path) and combining these to boost the Stats on your equipped Light Cone. When used, you will see that the Light Cone title now have +1, +2 and so on based on the amount of same Path Light Cones you have added onto your Equipment.

For Superimposition, players will take the same Light Cone but use duplicates of the Card to combine with the equipped Card to upgrade the Light Cone to a new Level. The upgrade appears as Light Cone title Level 1 to Level 2 and so on. This increases the Passive Skill of the Card rather than boosting the overall Stats (Attack, Defence and HP) of the Weapon.

How to Enhance Light Cones

If you are looking to upgrade the Base Stats for a Light Cone, you will need to Enhance it. But in order to do so, you need to get your hands on other Light Cones. But not just any are required for Enhancement. No, players will need to nab themselves Light Cones within the same Path as these can only be equipped and used by specific characters. So you will have to do a lot of praying to Gacha in order to obtain more Light Cones so that you can add these onto your Weapon to improve their Base Stats.

If you are unsure which characters can use the Light Cone, refer to the right-hand side of the screen under the Level Up Menu for whether your character can utilize the Passive Skills and Base Stats available on the Card. To Enhance however, you will need to open the Character Menu and head into Light Cone. From here, select Enhance and click on the Level Up Window. The Light Cones you need are marked under Materials. You can add up to 8 Light Cones to Level Up the equipped Light Cone Stats.
