At the end of your rampage, you will be met with the Red Judge’s third manifestation of power, the Fortress Aspect, designed to keep you from getting any further. Will this defence stop you in your tracks? Or will you succumb to the challenge? Here is how to beat the Fortress Aspect in Metal: Hellsinger.
How to beat the Fortress Aspect in Metal: Hellsinger
Before the boss fight
Before the fight, it would help massively to charge all the ultimates of all of your weapons and have a 16x fury. This is achieved through playing carefully and using Paz to maintain it between bouts with the beasts. Before you are to step into the arena, your fury metre will freeze, protecting whatever level you achieved.
For this fight, you will start with Paz, Terminus and Vulcan. You will have chosen either Persephone or The Hounds. For this fight, The Hounds would be recommended.
Additionally, it would be ideal if you equipped the Ghost Rounds Sigil.
The fight
This fight isn’t too challenging, but only if you follow these tips.
This Aspect doesn’t just attack you, but it protects itself using a stone brick dome when it is in the centre. Do not worry, this doesn’t actually change much. There is a high-point on the left side of the arena which you will be getting plenty of use out of, but watch out, for the Fortress Aspect likes that point, too.
Whatever you brought, The Hounds or Persephone, use your ultimates that you hopefully had charged before the fight, then switch to your Vulcan, stand back, and launch bolts into it. With the Ghost Rounds Sigil, you can keep switching between weapons using the mouse scroller to launch four bolts into the boss with every reload.
For this fight, the Aspect will be hiding in its dome. The game is trying to force you to close-quarter combat, but don’t fall for this. Leap over to the high point and launch explosive Vulcan bolts. Damage will get through. If you are having trouble with this, then get close with terminus, strike a few times, then leap out.
At any point, if the Aspect is near a red Chaos Crystal, shoot it. The damage payoff will be appreciated.
The Aspect will, at certain milestones, dematerialize and summon enemies. Don’t panic, this is actually a good thing. If you have Paz and The Hounds, then you can prepare easy and difficult enemies for slaughter, which an excellent opportunity to gather some health up. With such events happening, you can afford to take risks that may harm you as you can also depend on the enemies of the Styx Crystals to heal you back up.

The Vulcan’s and Paz’s ultimates will help with hindering the enemy so you can effectively prepare them for slaughter.
The main gimmick of the fight is the Aspect’s ability to shield. So get in the rhythm of using Vulcan to constantly slam bolts into the aspect from afar (giving you plenty of clearance to dodge incoming projectiles) and then use Paz and The Hounds to farm health from the enemies.
Keep doing that, and you’ll conquer Yhelm in no time.
