How to defeat The Malughast in Wizard101: Malughast Boss Guide

MMORPG Wizard 101 is a turn-based game that will put you in the shoes of a student wizard that needs to save the universe from various threats that lay upon it. One such threat is the boss Malughast whom you will encounter several times during the game and that will pose a challenge to every player. That’s why we decided to break down the battle with him and help you defeat him.

How to Beat Malughast?

You will encounter Malughast in the basement of Solomon Crane’s House and in his nest – Malughast nest. This boss is tanky with over 12.000 HP and always fights with at least one ally by his side (the bigger the party of wizards that is fighting him, the bigger the number of his aides). Now, his support minions can be a nuisance or completely ignorable, depending on which spawn in your battle.

If you are encountering minions that can stun you often and make you miss your turn, definitely go and kill them first. It wouldn’t take much of your time and it allows you to focus on Malughast without further distractions later on.

Upon engaging you, Malughast will cast Shadow Spell that will give each wizard three Malughast’s Feint card that applies a +70% Damage on target and a 70% Damage on self as well. You can use this card to your advantage by activating it and letting him strike you without any shields. You will need to keep your heals up (get attacking spells that heal you for a great amount or keep a pet that will heal you) so you don’t die and simply wait him out. Anytime he strikes you he will damage himself as well and eventually die.

Another strategy is to get one of the -80% shields from Sabrina Greenstar in Wizard City to sustain the damage of Malughast and then you don’t have to focus so much on healing spells. You can ramp up the offensive spells and charge the boss that way.

One thing that we definitely wouldn’t suggest is going at Malughast with a glass cannon strategy. Malughast can disable and blow you up easily so whatever strategy you choose make sure you either have plenty of armor or healing.
