The Harry Potter films and books showed us that we, as wizards, don’t get to choose our own wands, they are the ones that pick us. Well, Hogwarts Legacy gets rid of HP cannon by giving us the option to customize our wand to our own specifications. Unless you have been hurt by a deadly spell, and you are forced to get a wand with a phoenix feather core, here is how to customize your wand in Hogwarts Legacy.
How to Customize Your Wand
Early in the game, you will get to travel to Ollivanders and pick your wand just after you have completed your first Charms and Defense Against the Dark Arts classes. You will receive the quest from Professor Matilda Weasley, and yes, in case you are wondering, she is in fact of the same Weasley family as Ron and company. You will be able to get to choose your wand. However, you must select wisely, since its appearance will remain the same all the way through the game, you don’t get to change it.
Having said that, the one thing you will be able to change is the wand handles. You will be able to collect and loot different types of handles across the world by opening chests throughout the map, or get them as rewards after completing side missions. You will get to pick a wand core, a wood type and a wand style at the beginning of the game. Here are some tables, with all the options available:
