When creating your character, you can choose from four races: Human, Newman, CAST, and Deuman. After you’ve chosen their race, you’ll choose a body type. Next, you must choose a base character. Once a base character has been selected, you’ll be able to experience the game’s character creator. In the edit menu, you’ll have the following options: Edit Head, Edit Body, Edit Fashion, and Edit Misc. With this menu, you’ll be able to edit your character’s physical appearance and how their voice sounds.

Phantasy Star Online 2’s character creator is so in-depth that you can even change the position and size of your character’s body parts. This can be done by selecting either Edit Head or Edit Body and modifying a body part. Once you’ve finished creating your character, you’ll have the chance to choose their class. There are six to choose from:

  • Hunter
  • Ranger
  • Fighter
  • Gunner
  • Force
  • Techter

A character’s class can be changed later on at the Class Counter. After choosing a class, you’ll name your character and finalize the details to begin the game.
