How to Craft the PTZ Security Camera in Rust

Keep watch on your property!

Rust has long been a favorite amongst the survival game community due to its many unique mechanics and the inspiration it has drawn from other popular games of the same genre. With five years of history, this game is quickly becoming a classic and for good reason. Survive against all odds on a hostile island where even the wildlife is out to get you, and watch out for other survivors who are looking to rob you blind and take everything you have worked for. Defend your base and work alone or in a team to grow your influence over the world of Rust.

Thankfully the crafting of PTZ security cameras is fairly simple once you have everything down. There are only two materials which you will need in order to make this item, and then all that is required are a power source and a workbench. Without further ado, here is everything you need to produce one PTZ security camera.

  • 1x CCTV Camera (for crafting).
  • 150x metal frags (for crafting).
  • 1x Level 2 workbench (for crafting).
  • A power source of 5 Rust watts (to power the camera).
  • 30 seconds of time (for the item to be crafted).

Why Is the PTZ Camera Useful?

One of the best parts about this camera is actually laid out in its name. With the ability to Point, Tilt and Zoom, players will now have a much more accurate way of keeping their perimeter secure, and can quickly check their camera’s blind spots in order to make sure there are no enemies sneaking up on them from the outside. In fact, even though it takes a number of metal frags to craft, the PTZ camera is arguably far superior to a standard CCTV camera simply because of this extra maneuverability.
