How to Craft All Armor Types in Sons of the Forest

Put on the suit.

I remember feeling strong enough to battle giants and dragons with a mere iron armor. Of course, I got decimated and stepped on like an ant, but I least I tried. Once I got hold of the later armor in the game, alongside some really impressive weapons, then things turned the other way around. Defense is also a very good offensive move, your enemy will be, in practice, impaired by what you wear. And what better place to use it than in a mutant-filled evil island. Here is how to craft all armor types in Sons of the Forest.

How to Craft All Armor Types in Sons of the Forest

Protecting yourself against the dangers and evils in the wild is crucial. Yes, you can go ahead and put all your eggs in the weapon basket, but you will surely benefit from having some extra protection by wearing a sturdy and heavy armor set. After all, bullets can come from anywhere, and mutant cannibals are relentless as well. So, now that you want to craft one of those, let us choose which armor will suit you best. Here are all the armor types available in Sons of the Forest, and how to craft them as well.

All Armor Types and How to Craft Them

ArmorCrafting ItemsDescription
Bone Armorx4 Bones
x1 Duct Tape
x1 Rope
A great armor that will have a defense stat bonus with relatively easy-to-collect items. Get it as soon as you can!
Creepy ArmorMutant Skin
Combat Knife
Creepy armor, you say. Huh, I wonder where we will be getting Mutant Skin. Oh yes, mutants. Go ahead and kill them to craft it.
Golden ArmorProbably the best armor in the game, you will find it in the bunker located by the lake, just southeast of the snowy mountains. It will give you maximum defense, but you will require the Maintenance Key to get it.
Hide Armorx1 Cloth
x2 Animal Hide
Gathered by killing and skinning animals in the wild. Go ahead and do that to create this cold-protective armor.
Leaf Armorx10 Leaf
x1 Cloth
Oh well, if you want to be Tarzan, who am I to judge? The easiest armor to craft, it carries little to no protection, so go ahead and get rid of it once you get a new one.
Tech Armorx1 Tech Mesh
x1 Duct Tape
x1 Batteries
x1 Wire
x1 Circuit Board
Printer Resin 250ml (Tech Mesh)
As you can see, this armor takes quite a good amount of items that are not as common as the other armor sets in the list. It does have some damage reduction, but it is very expensive, both in resources and in time. Think about it before going for this armor.

A Defensive Choice

As you can see above, there are some armors that stand well above the others. While the Leaf and Hide armor sets are good enough in the early game, eventually the Bone and Golden armor will suit you a lot better for the dangers ahead. What about the Tech Armor? Well, go for it if you want, but I say it is not worth the effort. But anyway, it is up to you and I wish you the best of luck with your choice.
