How to Counter in Divine Knockout
The key to winning fights in Divine Knockout is to make space and play patiently. Similar to that of the mechanics in Super Smash Bros, you and the opposition have a percentage bar representing their life/HP. As this number rises through damage taken, the opposition can be taken out with a high enough percentage. You can keep track of this by looking directly above the enemy’s head.
As the movement is rather fluid, make sure that you keep your distance from enemies when they are attempting to execute a combo attack on you. Players need to lure the enemy in, making them believe that you are trying to attack them. But the goal is to trick the enemy into attacking you first. When they attack, dodge the attack depending on your God’s move set abilities. You should wait for the enemy trying to execute a heavy attack. When they do, dodge, having the opposition miss. In this timed window of them finishing their attack, counter the move by attacking. We recommend using a heavy attack here as the enemy is locked into the attacking animation and cannot move away from your hit.
Countering is crucial in Divine Knockout and can be done with players using both a passive and aggressive playstyle. Make sure that you do not overextend in a fight or get too greedy. Otherwise, the enemy will counter your attacks. Take advantage of the animation lock of an attack, specifically a heavy attack. Punish the enemy when they miss and blast them out of the arena.
