Cooking is one of the basic skills you’ll need to master in any survival game, and it’s no different in the world of Icarus. You can eat various types of food, but the good stuff must be cooked using fire. The crafting system in this game is pretty in-depth, so it may be a lot to wrap your head around if you’re a new player. In this guide, we’ll show you the basics of how to cook food in Icarus.
How to Cook Food in Icarus
You can cook food by using a campfire in Icarus. The campfire is one of the first things you can unlock in the tier 1 Tech Tree. After learning the talent, you can craft a campfire using 8 Fiber, 8 Sticks, and 24 Stone.
Craft the campfire, open up your inventory, and put it in your action bar. Place the campfire on the ground and then interact with it. You’ll need to use some fuel to make a fire. Sticks and wood will do just fine to fuel the campfire in the early game.
While you’re interacting with the campfire, you can see a list of recipes on the top left. The first food you can make is probably going to be cooked meat, which you can make from Raw Meat. You’ll encounter plenty of wolves, so kill one using a spear or any weapon you have handy, and then skin it using a Stone Knife. You can also use your bow and arrow or spear to kill some fish in any nearby body of water. That’s how you can get some raw meat.
Drag the raw meat into the device inventory, and wait for the raw meat to cook. You can take the cooked meat and eat it when it’s done to feed yourself. You can cook dozens of dishes using fire, so start gathering ingredients and experimenting. That’s all you need to know about the basics of how to cook food in Icarus.
