Of course, even for the layman wizard, it’s important to know how to handle these unusual critters, lest they spit in your face or eat your fingers or something. How to Complete Professor Howin’s Assignment in Hogwarts Legacy – Guide
Professor Howin is Hogwarts’ Beasts teacher in Hogwarts Legacy, teaching students all they need to know about the local magical fauna and how to safely handle them. Part of this process is occasionally plucking wild beasts for safety and study. There are a lot of nasty things lurking out there, after all, so they’ll be safer on school grounds.

For your Beasts class Assignment, Professor Howin wants you to capture a Diricawl and a Giant Purple Toad. Your tool of choice for this endeavor is the Nab-Sack, a satchel that can suck up and safely contain small critters. All you need to do is use your Nab-Sack to catch one of each of these beasts, and you’re done.
Finding the Beasts
Both of the beasts you need to find will have their general locations pegged on your map, so just follow the waypoint to find each one.
Starting with the Diricawl, these chicken-like birds will run away quickly when you approach. There are a few ways you can get close enough to snatch it with your Nab-Sack, though the best approach is to lay out some Beast Feed to lure it in, then approach slowly from behind. If it looks like it’s about to bolt, you can cast Accio to drag it in close before deploying the Nab-Sack.
The Giant Purple Toads are a little less mobile than the Diricawls, so they’re easier to catch. Same basic idea, lay some bait and approach from behind. Since the Toads can only move by jumping, you’ll be able to progress further on a Nab-Sack capture before they get too far away. If they move out of your range, just drag them back with Accio to seal the deal.
Once you’ve captured both beasts, return to Professor Howin to turn in your assignment. She’ll reward you with the motion for the Exploding Charm, Bombarda. Careful, this is a spicy one!
