Overwatch 2 has continued on this but has made a couple of tweaks so not every new player or Overwatch 1 player is managing to figure it out quickly. Keep on reading for a detailed explanation of how to check your MMR in Overwatch 2 and make sure you’re on top of your game.

Checking MMR in Overwatch 2

The first thing you want to do when checking your MMR is open up the “Career profile” and visit the Overview tab. Now select the drop-down menu and choose “Competitive”. This will show you rank for all three roles – DPS, Support, and Tank. Overwatch 1 didn’t have separate rankings for different roles so the new diverse system is a step up for multiplayer matchmaking.

Overwatch 2 is not shy on data, so in addition to your current rank, you will be able to check all kinds of different things related to your style of playing. You can check the total number of your wins, losses, eliminations, deaths, assists, time played per hero, etc.

There are multiple ranks you can have and they are:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • Master
  • Grandmaster
  • Top 500

If you are coming from Overwatch 1, you should know that getting your rank in Overwatch 2 takes more time. Since MMRs are now split for each class, you will have to play placement matches for each one before you get a rank.

Once rank is acquired, you will need to either win 7 matches or lose 20 matches in order to see your MMR change. However, this is not a 100% rule and you will not be able to tell for sure if you are currently sitting among the top players of your rank or at the bottom (for example, both the really good Gold player and a bad Gold player won’t know for sure that they are in that position).
