As a result, knowing how to change your shot timing is absolutely vital. Thankfully, thanks to NBA 2K23’s wide array of in-game menus, changing your shot meter type is quite simple. All you need to do is;
- Click on the Features tab from the Main Menu of NBA 2K23.
- Select “Controller Settings”.
- Scroll down until you find “Shot Meter Type” and click on it.
Once you’re in Shot Meter Type, you will be provided with a list of different shot types to choose from. To change the Shot Timing settings, scroll down until you find the option for it, and then choose your desired setting. These are the Shot Timing options you will have to choose from;
- Shots only
- Layups only
- Real Player %
- Shots & Layups
You will quickly notice that these are the same options from NBA 2K22. However, players can also alter the preferred time of release for each shot via the “Shot Timing Release Time” setting. Providing players with the option of either Very Early, Early, Late, or Very Late.
It is worth noting that the process to customize your own player’s shot meter in MyCareer is a tad different. Instead, you will need to;
- Go to MyPlayer.
- Head to the Gameplay Effects tab.
- Click on the Jump Shot Meter tab.
- Select your preferred animation from the list of Graphic Types.
