Six Days in Fallujah focusses on providing players with a Call of Duty-like experience but with the realism being at its top priority. Determined to make a realistic War game, Six Days in Fallujah has received its fair share of controversy due to its setting and glorification of War. But with so many War games, aren’t all in a way glorifying War? Growing up playing Call of Duty 4, Freedom Fighters and Risk, we all attempt to see what it was like to be a soldier at War, all in the complete safety and comfort of our home. But in Six Days in Fallujah, there are no super glides, jet packs or wall bounces or people trying to get a sweet throwing knife kill for their Faze compilation. With your Fireteam of 4, your weapons are exclusive to the Role you choose. But can Roles be changed? This is Vincent’s guide on Roles in Six Days in Fallujah.
What are Roles in Six Days in Fallujah?
Roles act as the Class System in Six Days in Fallujah. Do not get this confused however with Class Setups for Call of Duty, Roles act as your character’s abilities in the game where we would typically see Roles demonstrating an Offensive, Defensive and Supportive playstyles. A prime example of these would be in Apex Legends where you have Legends to choose from, with different playstyles to suit the Maps or how you typically like to play in an FPS game. From offensive flankers (Octane, Horizon, Pathfinder and Wraith) to defensive builders (Newcastle, Rampart and Wattson), these combined together make compositions perfect for edge or zone playstyles, depending on your flexibility and preferences.
This Class System in Apex is similar to Six Days in Fallujah but on a much smaller scale. Instead of 20+ Legends to choose from, players will need to be divided into 4 Roles making up the Fireteam:
- Ready – Single-Fire Rifle Class with Frag Grenades.
- Assist – Shotgun and M16 Class for close-long range assistance.
- Team Lead – Grenade Launcher Attachment for Breaching or clearing smaller areas heavily contested.
- Fire – M249 LMG Class, provides heavy fire and coverage for teammates.

Can you Change Roles?
As of its Early Access release as of v.0.1.2, players do not have the ability or option in place to change their Roles mid-match. Because of this, you will need to assess who is best suited to the 4 Roles listed above before heading into the game. Of course, if you are playing with strangers rather than your friends, you may naturally find it more difficult to select the Role you want. This is due to the fact that only the Team Leader can select who plays under each Role. This is decided in the Lobby Menu, where the IGL (in-game leader) assigns all 4 players in the Fireteam to the Roles. Keep in mind that if you are unhappy with your Role or want to change it, you can only do this as the Team Leader (Lobby Leader) and only in the Lobby, before the match begins.
This will likely change with later Patches in Six Days in Fallujah, but as of June, 2023, players must stick to their assigned Role mid-match. Seeing as Roles play an important role in Six Days in Fallujah, being able to adjust these mid-match could cause more harm than good and increase bugs. You should not be able to have multiple players on the same Role in the Fireteam. So changing this mid-match could cause bugs for the teammate that you are trying to switch with.
