How to Change Harvester Path in Meet Your Maker

The more complicated, the better

Ever wonder what it would feel like to combine the platforming capabilities of Abe’s Odyssey with the endless gory chaos of Doom? Well, welcome aboard to Meet Your Maker, the latest candidate in the ‘make your own game’ world that only a few are dipping their toes into. From the old and great Garry’s Mod to the latest arrival of Fortnite’s Creative 2.0, gamers are now getting more creative freedom in the latest games by having the ability to craft their own games. For me, this is a trip down a form of memory lane, growing up on creating my own maps and game modes in TimeSplitters on the PS2. Perhaps more now can relate to the Power House that is Minecraft when creating your own world. But building can be tough if you are no veteran, this is our guide on how to change Harvester Path in Meet Your Maker.

What is the Harvester in Meet Your Maker?

The Harvester is the four-legged character that follows the yellow path outlined by the game to show the route directly to the Genetic Material, the core part of the Outpost which Raiders need to take. The route will always show you the quickest method to the Genetic Material and because of this it can get rather tricky in knowing how your other paths work and if you are trying to create multiple routes to the Genetic Material. The Harvester can be seen as a hologram moving from the entrance of the Base and ending at the Genetic Material. If you make any adjustments to the yellow path that could either obstruct or destroy the path itself, the Harvester will change route or stop moving until you place a new block down.

How to Change the Harvester Path in your Base Build

As previously mentioned, the Harvester will only follow the fastest route to the Genetic Material. For this reason, if you create longer, more complex pathways to the Material, you will not be able to see the yellow line that shows the route from point A to point B as the Harvester will prioritise the fastest route. So how do we change his path? Well, the best method to use in the game when building your Base is to use Props. But you should not be using just any Props for these as every single item has a different function. Rather, players should use the cosmetic items that are there for appearance purposes to immerse the Raiders into your creation. They give life to your walls but act as a pathway obstruction for the Harvester.

You can have a total of 5 Packs being used for your Outpost, you should use the cosmetic Prop Tab Icon that looks like a lightbulb hanging on the ceiling of a square. At the bottom of this Tab, below the Lights, you will find Props that are separate from Wallpaper or Colors as these act as a cosmetic item that adds shape to the overall design of your Outpost. It is typically used on walls but can be placed anywhere. You should place these items on the concrete path that the Harvester will be travelling on. The Harvester will not be able to travel over them and from there will take an alternate route to the Genetic Materials.
