Clauncher is located in the surrounding Paldea Seas, appearing at the eastern, northern and western sides:

  • East Paldean Sea
  • North Paldean Sea
  • West Paldean Sea

We recommend players start at South Province Area One and Five, entering the sea from Poco Path beside Province Five or fast traveling to the South Province shores. The Pokémon in this area appear at Level 20-25. We recommend these areas as they are closest to the start of the game, therefore Clauncher can be captured quite quickly in Pokémon Violet.

When capturing Clauncher, we recommend using an Electric-Type to paralyse the Pokémon. Players can also use False Swipe TM to increase the chances of capturing this Pokémon massively due to its ability to stop the Pokémon from fainting in a battle.

How to Swim in Pokémon Violet

Players will need to defeat the Open Sky Titan in the Path of Legends portion of the game. This is in both versions of the game and upon completion, your Miraidon will be able to swim in the Sea. The Open Sky Titan is the second Titan players need to defeat. This Titan is a Level 19, at this Level players can beat the Open Sky Titan relatively early in the game. This then allows the player access to many Pokémon such as the Violet exclusive, Clauncher. The Open Sky Titan can be found at the left side of West Province (Area One) on the border of the Paldea region.

How to Evolve Clauncher

After capturing Clauncher, players have the simple task to level up Clauncher to evolve it into its stronger form, Clawitzer. All players need to do is get the Pokémon to Level 37, after this Clauncher will evolve. As there are no other requirements for players to evolve this Pokémon, players should have no trouble levelling up. This can be done in a variety of different ways:

  • Rare Candy – Collectable items that appear under a pink beam around Paldea.
  • Use the EXP sharing system with your Pokémon in the party. Meaning that you can fight Electric-Types with other Pokémon and Clauncher will get XP from the fight.
  • Use your Pokémon as often as you can in manual battles – simple but effective method

As Clauncher is a Violet exclusive Pokémon, players who purchased the Scarlet version will need to trade with Violet users to obtain Clauncher and hit 100% completion on the Paldea Pokédex.
