Palia has everything that a casual gamer in love with cozy atmosphere games can ever want. It is a combination of life sim and MMO genres that allows you to explore the open world, grow your crops at a farm, cook, decorate, and even fish!
Even though players often don’t know where to start when faced with all these fun opportunities, it seems like fishing has been one of their most favorite activities recently. But, with plenty of places to fish in the Palia, it’s hard to decide where to go and what are the best places where you can earn the most from your fishing. We dove into the issue and here’s what we’ve fished out!

Where to Fish in Palia?
When deciding to go for the best fishing spot in Palia there are a couple of factors to consider. Firstly, do you have bait or not? If you do, what kind of bait is it? Worms or Glowing Worms? How many and which fishing upgrades do you have? All of this will define which kind of fish you can go for.
You should know that bigger and rarer fish will be harder to catch so you need to prepare and make sure that you’re not trying to catch them with insufficient equipment.
Beginner Fishing Spots
If you’re a beginner and want to go for the best fish in Bahari Bay that doesn’t require any bait we suggest you fish:
- Barracuda (marked red) – can be caught during the evening and night.
- Dawnray (marked green) – can be caught in the morning.
- Cantankerous Koi (marked yellow) – can be caught during both day and night.
They are all worth around 50 gold so it can be a really good start for you. See the map below for details on fish spots where you can find them.
Advanced Fishing Spots
When you have a bit of experience with fishing, get bait like Glowing Worms, and maybe even acquire the Tuning Fork that allows you to track rare fish, you are ready for a bigger challenge that is worth more gold. Among the 6 most valuable fish in Palia, 3 of them can be found in Kilima Village. Those are:
- Ancient Fish (marked purple) – can be caught anytime.
- Flametongue Ray (marked red) – can be caught during the morning and day.
- Giant Kilima Stingray (marked dark green) – can be caught during morning, day and evening.
The 3 rare fish are worth between 350 and 410 gold each. Check out the map below for exact locations.
On the other hand, if you wish to go for the big game in Bahari Bay you need to look for the following 3 fish:
- Long Nosed Unicorn Fish (marked black) – can be caught during the day.
- Swordfin Eel (marked orange) – can be caught anytime.
- Void Ray (marked teal) – can be caught anytime.
The value of these fish is similar and it ranges from 375 to 410 Gold. See our map below to find these rare opportunities.
In addition to the fish mentioned and shown on our maps, you should know that a rare fish called Giant Goldfish can be found in all ponds in both Bahary Bay and Kilima Village. It’s worth 410 Gold and can be caught at any time.
