Taming animals just got easier in Green Hell

One of our favorite parts of a game has to do with anything surrounding animals or taking care of them. There’s just something about owning a virtual pet that you know you would never be able to have in real life. Whether it’s taming a dinosaur from ARK: Survival Evolved or a Thestral from Hogwarts Legacy, animals never disappoint. In Green Hell, you can tame your own animals after you have captured them in the wild. In this guide, we’re going to teach you how to capture and tame them.

How to Capture Animals in Green Hell

Before you even think about taming and breeding animals you need to learn how to approach and capture them. This is a game about survival and if you make one false move your life is on the line. If you want to keep an animal you have found while exploring here are the steps you need to take. You can’t just wave your weapon in the air and hope they get intimidated.

You’re going to want to focus on finding ways to sedate them. You can do this by using your blowpipe with poison darts. If you’re only focused on capturing animals versus taming them you need to create a killer trap. This can be done by using 4x logs, 1x long stick, 7x rope, 1x stick, and 4x small rocks. Capturing animals will always require you to sedate them so you can bring them back to your base.

How to Tame Animals in Green Hell

Now that you have captured an animal and have brought it back to your base you need to start taking care of them. This can be done by performing various tasks such as feeding or giving them water. Make sure they have food and water. Water doesn’t need to be replenished during the rainy season, however food, you need to find items such as Cassava Bulb or flowers. If you don’t feed them after two days they will die.

Animals that are in the pen will start to build trust with you. If you clean out their pen or give them their basic tools to survive they will start to like you over time. Once they have reached at least 70% in trust you can start to pet them and by 90% you can summon them. The biggest accomplishment is getting their trust up to 95% because they will be able to have babies.
