Deck building in Potionomics is your means of succeeding your uncle's potion shop. Here's how to effectively build it up!

Running your potion shop and finding success in Potionomics will mean becoming an effective seller, pitcher and haggler to make the most of your lovingly crafted creations. To do this, Potionomics utilises a deck builder system whereby growing closer to its other characters will reward you with events and side quests that result in Sylvia often walking away with a new card to add to her ever-expanding deck. Here’s everything you need to know to successfully develop Sylvia’s skills as her own self-made salesperson.

Sylvia’s beginners’ deck is accurately basic. She’s got a long way to go as a novice potion brewer. Her cards are severely lacking in skills and traits, especially so since every other card that you can and will end up obtaining blows hers out of the water. To encounter these superior cards, you will need to bond with the many darling NPCs of Potionomics.

As we have said once before, romancing them in optional, but increasing your bond level with all of them all the way up to rank 10 rewards players with said characters’ full deck of their own cards. Since Sylvia can customise her own deck to include no more than 20 cards, players can get fancy with how to best kit it out. This will mean for strategizing their way to the top of both competitions and potion shop ranking across the land.

To do this, players can obtain them from a number of ways. Let’s get into the specifics. Owl’s cards will be granted to players for plot progression through completing and beating all its competitions. His character is the only one to reward players with cards this way. With the other 10 key NPC characters, you will seek out their services to increase their bond outside of potion competitions.

Players will be able to do this by traveling to these characters. Learning how to best manage your time in a day will be the biggest step in the right direction when mastering how to play Potionomics. Brewing potions and stepping out to converse with its characters is a recipe for success in itself.

When traveling, have in hand high quality items to gift everyone at each stop in a day, hang out, and answer their prompts favourably to see their relationship with Sylvia increase. At some point, the option to Rank Up will become available during Sylvia’s travels, and with it, not just a visual increase in their bond level, but the offering of advice to Sylvia verbally and in the form of a well-deserved card.

Finally, obtaining a rank 10 for each character requires specific potions to unlock them. These are:

  • Quinn – Mana Potion and Sight Enhancer
  • Mint – Speed Tonic (x2)
  • Baptiste – Health Potion and Mana Potion
  • Muktuk – Insight Enhancer and Alertness Enhancer
  • Roxanne – Curse Cure and Radiation Tonic
  • Saffron – Ice Tonic and Fire Tonic
  • Luna – Mana Potion and Stamina Potion
  • Salt and Pepper – Tolerance Potion and Radiation Tonic
  • Xidriel – Petrification Cure and Silence Cure
  • Corsac – Petrification Cure and Tolerance Potion

That’s everything you need to know about effectively building up your card deck and to full completion!
