One issue that a lot of players often come across is the boss Vortex: Deadly Master of Air. This swift bloon can cause quite a bit of a problem when coming for you so we decided to create this guide and help you defeat each Vortex that comes your way.

Defeating Vortex in BTD 6

Beating Vortex will require two things: great farming and selling/buying towers at the right time. During the early game, you would like to build as many farms as possible to get a lot of money in your bank. At the same time, don’t think about the Vortex and buy towers that will help you pop waves of those incoming hordes of bloons.

Vortex is a fast-moving Boss with the ability to stun those buildings around him and disable them completely. This counts both for towers and farms – if you build them too close to his path line and Vortex uses its stun ability they won’t be able to attack/produce money. Spreading out your towers and farms and building them further will be the first thing to do.

Once the Vortex spawns for the first time at round 40 you will need to sell those previous towers you had, and how focus solely on long-range high DPS towers. Since Vortex has the ability to take down projectiles you would want to have towers that are not using them.

Fighting Lower Tier Vortex

Vortex will come in five Tiers, each one stronger than the last. For those earlier tiers, choose towers with a slowdown ability and single-target damage. We would recommend Sniper Monkey and Frist Strike Capability. The latter has a devastating attack that will help tremendously in the effort to beat this boss. However, it is quite expensive, so farming well is key to getting this tower. Also, don’t forget to build buffs for your towers and farms. Even though they don’t have that clear of an impact, trust us, they will be your vital ally in this fight.

Fighting Higher Tier Vortex

For higher Tier Vortex Paragons, Heroes and support towers will be the name of the game. Work toward creating three strong tier-5 towers and accumulate many pops to create an admirable Paragon that will wreak havoc on the Vortex. Hero towers are also helpful when creating strategies for high Tier fights. Monkey Banks, Geraldo, or Benjamin will be income boosters that will give you a stable economy to rely on. If you would like to go a different route, choose Ezili, Sauda, or Psi as they can stun the Vortex on its path. Lastly, support towers can help boost any farm or tower you might have and are a great solution to address any shortcomings in your setup.
