Puzzles are meant to be mentally challenging and act as exercises that involve putting to the test our best of our abilities. Sometimes, they are present just to mock us and be our forever source and fountain of frustrations and headaches. This is an everyday chore for us gamers and for the Children of Silentown as well. This puzzle, in fact, possesses both qualities of being the last one in the game, but also the longest one as well. But that doesn’t impress that easily, right? Well, here is how to beat the basin puzzle in Children of Silentown.
How to Beat the Basin Puzzle
Once arriving to the mill in the forest, you will face with the most intricate and long puzzle in the game. You will need to fill 5 basins in order to get out of there safely. There is a wheel on the side of the mill that will redirect the water flow towards one of those five basins. In exchange for filling the basins, you will receive stone tablets. You will need three tablets to proceed to the next stage of this portion of the forest. And well, in your current state, those are the only tablets you will be able to get, so you’re in luck. Anyway, here is how to beat the basin puzzle in Children of Silentown.
Basin Puzzle First Pass
Basin 3: this is the easiest basin of the bunch to fill. You will notice there are vines that will alter the position of wood planks that will lead the water flow towards this basin. There isn’t anything you must do here, so interact with the basin to receive your stone tablet.
Basin 2: this is a tricky one. If you set the water flow to basin 2, you will only see some water falling into the ground. If you sing the third song, you will unveil a statue that has no basin. Travel to the left, and you will see that there is a basin in front of statue 1. This statue also need a basin, but it is not the one beside it. It belongs to the statue we just unveiled. Position the basin on the statue’s hand and when filled up, interact with it in order to get your stone tablet.
Basin 4: you will first have to direct the water towards the blue plant in order for it to redirect the water to the bee hive that is inside a tree. You will collect wax from it, which you will then combine with your sock to form a wax sock. This basin has an orifice on its side, so be sure to put the wax sock in there to prevent any spilling. Redirect the water towards the basin to fill it up and collect the stone tablet.
Then, you will position the three stone tablets in the sockets that are located outside the stone door. They will work well enough for it to become partially open. Just crawl below it. You will travel to another portion of the forest, and you will come back with a white monster that, is actually pretty friendly. I will jump to the point in which you return to the basin zone.
Basin Puzzle Second Pass
Basin 1: after falling from a higher point, you will awake in the water along other objects, including a new basin. Yes, this is the basin that fits statue 1. So go ahead and fit it, so you can finally fill it with water and claim the fourth stone tablet. Insert that tablet inside the last socket so that the stone door can be opened completely, and your monster friend can pass through it.
Basin 5: your monster friend will follow you until you sing the first song, which will instruct it to stop. After positioning the wood planks to deliver water to both basins opened in half, position the monster in one of the symbols in the floor that are actually switches, and stand on the other one. Both basins will fill up, and you will be rewarded with the last stone tablet that will fill the last socket besides the wheel that will help you get out of the forest.
