How to Beat the Alluvial King Boss in Scars Above

If you’re in the mood for a sci-fi adventure in which you’re stranded on an alien world filled with tons of body-horror and grotesque native monsters, then Mad Head Games’ own, Scars Above is exactly what you need in your life. While the game’s fodder enemies are scary enough, it’s the game’s main bosses who really bring in the nightmare-inducing visuals.

One of the more difficult ones early on is the Alluvial King. He’s quick, deadly, and leaves little room for mistakes to be made on the player’s part. Luckily though, we know how to beat him, easily. So, let’s explain how to beat the Alluvial King boss in Scars Above.

How to Beat the Alluvial King Boss in Scars Above

By this point in Scars Above, the game has pretty much explained that not only enemies but environmental weak points can and should be exploited in order to fully take advantage of the combat mechanics that Mad Head Games has put together. So by that idea, what you’re going to want to do is exploit the Alluvial King’s orange weak points by hitting each one with your Thermic Charger.

Once you’ve hit a few weak points, it’ll catch fire and make itself open to attacks on its mouth sack. Shoot it quickly with the Vera to inflict further damage. You’ll need to rinse and repeat these steps often until you can finally kill it entirely. Between this, you’ll need to dodge his striking and lunging attacks. They’re easy to out-maneuver, just dodge-roll around him.

At various points, halfway through chipping away its life, the Alluvial King will begin to throw up those bile worms into the water around you. You’ll need to head to dry ground to fully escape them. You could freeze the water but I found it best to stay on dry land and just dodge the Alluvial King’s attacks and continue the attack pattern to defeat him.
