In Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3, as with many others of its kind, you can unlock characters by beating them in a race. One challenge pits players up against the grumpy cephalopod himself, Squidward. But, it’ll take more than a secret love of Krabby Patties to successfully complete this challenge! If you’re running in circles, struggling to overcome your aquatic adversary, here’s how to beat Squidward!

So, first things first — to take on this challenge, you’ll select “Boat Smarts” in CHALLENGES. It forces you to play as SpongeBob for this one, which … makes a ton of sense. If you can complete this challenge, you’ll subsequently unlock the squidman himself in your character roster, so … no pressure!

It’s important to note that, at the end of the day, this is a kart racer. So, as long as you do whatever you can to prevent Squidward from closing the gap between you, you should be fine. It also makes sense that this course would be prevalently water-themed, so make sure you’re confident in not only your driving, but also your boating. It’s unclear how or why Mrs. Puff signed off on SpongeBob driving in a derby, but …

At around the halfway point of the course, a classic obstacle will present itself. A series of random drivers will move side to side, and if you aren’t successful in dodging them, you’ll be handing Squidward the lead. Thankfully, it’s not impossible to retake said lead, as long as you’re on top of things from here on. If at any point the sailor’s arm obstructs your vision, don’t panic! Just use what you can see to stay on course.

Ideally, with enough practice, you’ll be able to get a big enough lead on your opponent that there is no reasonable way for you to lose. Just don’t let up, and don’t get overconfident! You’ll surely emerge victorious sooner or later!
