In God of War: Ragnarok, one enemy you’ll inevitably encounter are Light Elves. Those who’ve played God of War (2018) might recognize these creatures, known too as the Ljósálfar. Beating these illuminated foes is easier said than done, however, as the term Light Elves refers to three separate variants. There are Light Elf Warriors, Light Elf Mystics, and Light Elf Slayers. Read on to learn how to overcome these creatures.
How to Beat Light Elf Warriors in God of War: Ragnarok
Light Elf Warriors come in two sub-variants — one that uses one sword, and the other … which uses two swords. In the case of the first variant, your best strategy is probably to parry their first (of two) attacks, turning their onslaught in your favor. Unfortunately, the second variant isn’t so simple. In order to beat these fearsome foes, the best course of action would be to observe their moves. They aren’t as open as their sibling, so you’ll have to make your move when — and if — you can.
It’s possible that both variants will opt to flee if they lose the advantage. For this reason, your best option would be to make your attacks count. Do what you can when you can, and you’ll scale these mountains.
How to Beat Light Elf Mystics in God of War: Ragnarok
Unlike their Warrior cousins, the Light Elf Mystics rely solely on ranged, projectile attacks. It’s best to take care of these enemies once you’ve gotten up-close-and-personal, but sometimes it’s easier said. They have a series of projectile moves that can make getting close a chore. The first is an explosive that can be dodged; the second is more of a rapid-fire ability that you’ll want to block; and the third will track you, so you’ll want to take it out from a distance before it’s able to reach you.
As long as you’re paying attention to their moves — and as long as you’re confident with ranged moves — Light Elf Mystics should pose no significant threat.
How to Beat Light Elf Slayers in God of War: Ragnarok
If Warriors are more melee and Mystics specialize in ranged attacks, it makes sense that Slayers would have points in both categories. To take these enemies out, remember the tactics used for both of the previous two classes of Light Elves and utilize them strategically. It doesn’t help that Slayers can heal themselves — they’re one of those types of enemies — so focus on eliminating them quickly.
