How to beat Klawf

Klawf the Stony Cliff Titan is just a larger version of the many Klawf Pokemon you will see in the area where this titan can be found. This titan is a giant stone crab, a full Rock-Type Pokemon. So plan accordingly to use mostly Water, Grass and Fighting-Type Pokemon to battle the monstrous crab of stone.

The Stony Cliff Titan’s attacks are at least Vice Grip and Rock Smash. Klawf also has Block, which prevents you from switching out your Pokemon or leaving the battle. Klawf however has a few tricks up its sleeve so not going to be as easy as you think despite it being a pure Rock-Type with simple moves.

The Klawf Pokemon have a special ability in Scarlet and Violet called Anger Shell. When they lose more than half their HP, their Attack, Sp Attack, and Speed are greatly increased. However lucky for you their Defense and SP Defense are greatly decreased.

Mid-Battle with the Klawf Titan

Despite a chance to KO the Klawf Titan quickly, once it’s HP is very low, it will retreat. The Titan will run away to the side of the cliff where you found it and bust down the side of a cliff making a cave. It will eat a Herba Mystica, the item you are searching for in this area and fighting the Titans for, and gain all its HP back.

After that, you will engage in battle again and this time you can take the Titan down with your super affective attacks till it faints. Your upperclassman Arven will show up and help you with the battle this time around as well.

Arven will be the person you talked to back at the academy to start your quest into the Titan Zone and look for Herba Mystica. Once you’ve defeated the Klawf Titan, you and Arven will find the Herba Mystica he seeks inside the cave that the Titan made during its escape attempt.

As a show of thanks, Arven will prepare some of the Herba Mystica to use for your Pokemon. Herba Mystica just heals your pokemon, so it’s like a more effective potion.
