How to Avoid Charles and Survive in Choo-Choo Charles

Taking 'Murder on the Orient Express' To a Whole New Level

In a game where you’re ambushed by a ginormous boxcar with eight spider legs, survival is key. If you have more than a couple of brain cells, anyway. In Choo-Choo Charles, developed by Two Star Games, this is exactly what happens. You could be minding your own business, upgrading your own boxcar to stand a chance against the demonic one. When, out of nowhere, Charles will find you and kill you.

So, how can you survive against a gigantic murder train? If that’s your first priority, you might stand a chance. In this guide, we’ll be outlining several keys to ensure you live to fight another day.

How to Avoid Charles and Survive in Choo-Choo Charles

So — it should be said first and foremost that it doesn’t seem possible to completely avoid Charles. If he wants you, he’s going to find you. But, there are steps you can take to be ready for him when he comes. For starters, you’ll notice several optional NPCs dotted along the map — these are not optional for you. Stop and talk to as many NPCs as you can. In many cases, they’ll offer free scraps that can be used to upgrade your train’s speed, damage, and armor.

Scraps are your lifeblood in this game. But, let’s say you accumulate a ton of scraps. What should you prioritize: Speed, Damage, or Armor? If all you care about is survival, you should max out speed and armor first, then damage. This is because you will need to be able to outrun Charles, and barring that, survive his intense attacks should he get too close. Damage is also important, for obvious reasons, but there’s no chance of victory if you can’t … survive.
