Dwarf Fortress has no short supply of dwarves who will want to move in to your fortress. Here is how to attract monster slayers to your fortress in Dwarf Fortress.
How to attract monster slayers in Dwarf Fortress
What are monster slayers?
Monster slayers are dwarves who are skillful at slaying monsters that reside in caverns. Caverns are areas under the ground or inside mountains that house all manner of monsters and evil, such as dragons or giant spiders or troglodytes.
Monster slayers can’t be controlled like other dwarves. They can’t be assigned a job and will simply loiter around, taking up space and resources. Unruly, they will instead run into open and revealed caverns and slaughter all they can. Monster slayers will, at their leisure, scout for caverns and hunt and kill what they want.
They can be sloppy in their work, however, as they have tendencies to not kill all of a group of evil, leaving some or even half remaining after they’ve had their fun. They may process and harvest the monsters they kill, which does provide resources, however their wild nature means they are unpredictable and inefficient, especially considering you can’t control which monsters they kill.
You will need a hospital up and running if you want to house a monster slayer.

How to get them to visit
To attract a monster slayer, you need meeting areas for them to visit, such as taverns, and you’ll need at least one accessible cavern. Having a cavern open is risky, considering the monsters will eventually want to venture out, but it is necessary to attract one.
When a monster slayer visits, they’ll propose a petition for them to stay on the premises to hunt the cave creatures. You must accept it if you want them to stay. You cannot influence exactly the quantity or frequency of monster slayer visits, they will visit on their terms. All you can do is make sure the requirements are met.
